Getting started
How does it work?
Pick a trend and a photo (or let the app pick the best one from your library), and the app makes a new picture or a short video from it. Your photos live in a library in the app, so you add them once and reuse them for any trend, and you can group them by who is in them: you, your partner, your kids, your pet. One photo is enough to start, and the library holds up to 30.
Which photos give the best results?
Each trend says what it needs. Most take a photo of one person, couple trends take a photo of both people or two photos, and pet trends take a photo of your pet. For trends with people, a clear, well-lit photo where the face is easy to see works best; avoid sunglasses, heavy shadow, and photos where the person is tiny in the frame or turned far to the side. Adding a few photos from slightly different angles helps the harder trends. The app will say if a photo looks blurry, dark, small or steeply angled, or has no face or several; those still work — they just give the model less to go on.
How long does it take?
A photo trend usually finishes in about 15 to 35 seconds. A video trend takes longer, roughly 60 to 100 seconds, and produces a clip of about 5 to 8 seconds. Those are estimates, not promises: a busy provider can make any generation slower. You can leave the app while it works — it tells you when the result is ready, if you let it send notifications.
Your photos and your results
Who can see my photos and what I make?
Nobody, unless you choose otherwise. Your photos are used only to make your own generations and are never shown to anyone else. Your results are private by default and live in your library.
You can choose to show one result on its trend's page, where other people browsing that trend see it. That is optional, off until you turn it on, and shown without your name — nothing identifies who made it. An admin reviews it before it appears, you can take it down again at any time, and a share link you create expires by itself.
How do I delete my photos?
Profile → your photo library, then remove the ones you do not want; deleting a photo removes the file and everything worked out from it, including any face data. You can delete individual results in your library the same way. Deleting your whole account removes all of it — see delete-account.
How do I turn notifications off?
In your phone's settings, under notifications for trendy.ai. The app only sends a notification when something you started is finished or failed, when credits arrive, and occasionally when a new trend is published. Turning them off does not affect anything else; your results still wait for you in the app.
Credits and plans
What do credits pay for, and what is free?
Every generation costs credits, and the cost is shown before you start — photo trends cost less than video trends, which are far more expensive to produce. A new account gets credits to try the app with, and its first result is made with the best model the trend has, so you can see what the paid tiers look like.
On the free plan, results carry a small trendyai.io mark in the corner. The original is kept without it: subscribe and the mark comes off everything you have already made, with nothing to re-generate. A subscription also unlocks better models on many trends.
Common questions
A generation failed
You are not charged for a generation that does not finish. If credits look wrong after a failure, write to us with the approximate time and we will check the ledger.
A photo was refused
Photos are rarely refused. A photo is only turned away if its upload did not finish or it could not be analysed; try it again, or pick another. Any other photo is kept, and the app may tell you it looks blurry, dark or small, was taken at a steep angle, or shows no face or more than one. Those still work; what suits best depends on the trend — a clear, well-lit photo of the person for a portrait, a photo of your pet for a pet trend.
Credits, subscriptions and refunds
Credits are spent per generation; the cost is shown before you start. Subscriptions renew through the App Store or Google Play, and you cancel them in your store account settings, not in the app. Refunds are handled by the store that took the payment: Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com, Google at play.google.com/store/account.
Deleting your account
Profile → Delete account, or see delete-account. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription; cancel that in your store settings.
